Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Description:

During this 8-week experiential program, participants learn mindfulness meditation and other practices that increase present-moment awareness and help develop emotional intelligence, clarity and peace of mind. Created by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979, it is an internationally acclaimed program with an extensive body of research supporting a wide range benefits for physical and psychological health.

During the course, you will learn a variety of formal and informal practices for cultivating mindfulness. You will explore practical applications of mindfulness that will give you greater self-awareness and help you meet all life experiences (including times of stress, pain and illness) with more ease, confidence and resiliency. The course is designed for adults and is conducted in a safe, supportive environment. By the end of the program, MBSR participants typically report experiencing less stress; more self-kindness and compassion; and positive shifts in attitudes, behaviors and relationships.

The course is designed for adults and is conducted in a safe, supportive environment. By the end of the program, MBSR participants typically report experiencing less stress; more self-kindness and compassion; and positive shifts in attitudes, behaviors and relationships.
